Cultural Crawls

June 5, 19 & 25

In support of the 2024 ParticipACTION Community Challenge, the Move U Crew has launched a new walking/wheeling series this summer: Cultural Crawls with the Move U Crew! Each “crawl” will highlight a culturally-themed and wheelchair accessible walk within Vancouver to explore the culturally hidden gems of Vancouver for FREE, including:

  • The Historic Chinatown Walking Tour in partnership with Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden
  • The Really Gay History Tour in partnership with Forbidden Vancouver Walking Tours
  • The Decolonization Tour in partnership with Belkin Art Gallery

Tower Beach Walk

June 12, 2024

Join us for a FREE walk to Tower Beach with the Move U Crew! This trail boasts beautiful scenery. Please note that we will take our time coming up the stairs and breaks are encouraged.


Pacific Spirit  Walk

June 26, 2024

Pacific Spirit Park is a beautiful well-marked forest located right here beside UBC with 73km worth of walking trails! In this walk the Move U Crew will show you a short walk in Pacific Spirit that you can fit into your lunch break!


Fall Programs Viewable Online

Look ahead to Fall 2024!

From tennis and skating/hockey to aquatics and fitness, UBC Recreation has something for everyone. If you are looking into any of those activities, mark your calendars for the following important dates:

  • Programs Viewable Online | June 27 @ 1PM
  • Programs Open For Registration | July 9 @ 1PM

Registration information for UBC student programs such as Intramurals Events and Leagues will be available in late August.

Thunderbird Summer Leagues

The Thunderbird Summer Soccer, Roundnet and Softball Leagues offer rolling registration throughout the summer and it’s open to UBC Students, Faculty & Staff and community members! If you are interested in playing soccer please send an email to intramurals.info@ubc.ca 

Drop-In Opportunities

Check out different activities across campus to stay active. They are FREE for all UBC Students:

Please note, the Thunderbird Arena will be closed for the month of June and all drop-in activity will be unavailable. 

Group Fitness Classes

Do you have a fitness membership? If so, you can join any Group Fitness Classes for FREE! You can participate in spin, yoga, pilates classes or bootcamps all week long!
