To ensure a safer experience for all guests, effective January 2, 2025, the UBC Aquatic Centre will be introducing a new safety measure for using the 3-metre diving board. Access will be limited to individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Aged 12 and older
- At least 1.35 metres (4 ft 4 in) tall
This change is based on Lifesaving Society Canada’s National Safety Standards, which are designed to reduce the risk of injuries and enhance safety at aquatic facilities.
