Free Week
January 6 – 12
During Free Week you can try out a variety of fitness classes for free! Open to UBC Students, UBC Staff & Faculty, and the public. No experience is required for any of the classes and all abilities are welcome! Please note Free Week only applies to fitness classes.
Intramural League Reg Close
January 6
Intramural League registration closes on January 6 at 11:59PM. There are more than 10 different sports available! If you can’t find a team or need more people, attend the Free Agent Meetings on January 8 & 9!
Women (Trans Women Welcome) & 2STNB Fitness Hours Start
January 6
Women (Trans Women Welcome) & Two-Spirit, Trans, Non-Binary (2STNB) fitness hours are back on January 6. Enjoy private studio times, access to equipment, and the supervision of friendly and knowledgeable staff who self-identify as a woman or 2STNB.
First Day of Run Club
January 14
The first day of the UBC Recreation Run Club is on January 14! The run group meets weekly and is open to everyone and welcomes all skill levels and abilities. Participants can expect different pace and distance options offered each week, so there is something for everyone!

Wellbeing Walk & Rolls
January 15 & 29 | 12PM – 1PM
Twice a month, the Move U Crew hosts 2 Wellbeing Walk & Rolls open to all UBC Students, Faculty & Staff and community members. On January 15, get cozy and join the Hot Chocolate Walk. On January 29, take a relaxing break and take a tour of the Nitobe Garden!
Lunch & Lift Workshop
January 22
Join us for a FREE 30-minute yoga class, followed by a workshop on boundaries and burnout. In today’s world, we are pulled in so many directions that it can leave us feeling exhausted and detached. There are many strategies that can be used to prevent and manage burnout, one of which is setting healthy boundaries
Walk for Joy Reg Close
January 27
Walk for Joy is an annual 9-week walking and rolling challenge that strives to promote regular physical activity in social settings. Register and join the challenge! Registration closes on January 27.
Storm the Wall Reg Opens
January 28
Join us for one of UBC’s most iconic experiences! Participate as a competitive or just for fun team and complete the course as a relay, or challenge yourself to do the whole course on your own as an Iron Person. You will swim, sprint, bike, run, and Storm The Wall! A fun & exciting UBC tradition! Embrace Tradition. Embrace the Spirit. Embrace the Storm.
Move More Lean More Reg Deadline
January 29
Move More, Learn More is an interactive health education program designed for women (trans women welcome). This specialized program includes a variety of health learning topics and private group physical activity sessions so that participants can try out new ways to move. Start your journey in health and fitness, registration closes on January 29!
