We are hiring for the following summer admin positions:
Program Assistant – Customer Relations
These position will work directly with several of the UBC Camps management team on tasks of varying complexity in an organizational capacity as well as providing customer service and registration assistance to the general public. The primary focus for this position is on communication with parents, campers, staff, and other members of the administrative team to ensure all camps run as smoothly as possible.
Program Assistant – Finance and Customer Relations
This position will work directly with several of the UBC Camps management team, but especially the Manager – UBC Camps, in supporting all financial logistics and reporting, as well as providing customer service and registration assistance to the general public. The secondary focus for this position is on communication with parents, campers, staff, and other members of the administrative team to ensure all camps run as smoothly as possible.
Program Assistant – Marketing and Multimedia
This individual will work directly with several of the UBC Camps management team to photograph and share camper experiences with parents and the community using the UBC Camps website, newsletters, and various social media channels. While photography will be the primary focus of this position, creating a weekly newsletter in consultation with the UBC Camps Manager to promote upcoming programs, along with sending a weekly program evaluation survey to camp participants will also be expected. Additional responsibilities will include creating content for, and managing, social media channels, designing promotional materials for use online and in print, and assistance with campus wayfinding as needed.
Program Assistant – Varsity Academies and Camps
This position will work directly with several of the UBC Camps management team on logistics related to Varsity-delivered Academies and Camps, along with assisting in the day-to-day operations of UBC Camps and various other administrative responsibilities, including registration and communication with parents, campers, staff, and other members of the administrative team.
Head Instructor (2 positions)
This position is responsible for overseeing the success of all camps delivered directly by the UBC Camps office, which includes various sport, recreation, enrichment and art camps. This position is responsible for supporting Instructors in the planning and implementation of these camps (and others as needed), including playing a supporting role in Instructor training; ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to; leading weekly staff meetings; assisting with supervising groups of youth (ages ranging from 6-17) and/or leading activities; organizing camp supplies and equipment, as well as assisting with other set-up and clean-up duties as required for camps to operate smoothly.
Head Instructor & Adventure Lead (1 position)
This position is responsible for managing the bookings and logistics of adventure camps (field-trip based camps off-campus), as well as overseeing the success of all camps delivered directly by the UBC Camps office, which includes various sport, recreation, enrichment and art camps. This position is responsible for supporting Instructors in the planning and implementation of these camps (and others as needed), including playing a supporting role in Instructor training; ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to; leading weekly staff meetings; assisting with supervising groups of youth (ages ranging from 6-17) and/or leading activities; organizing camp supplies and equipment, as well as assisting with other set-up and clean-up duties as required for camps to operate smoothly.
