Activate a Summer Fitness Membership

May 1

Activate your Summer Fitness Membership starting May 1! Purchase online for just $50 and enjoy unlimited access to group fitness classes, ARC & BirdCoop Fitness Centre until August 30, 2025.

Need a locker this summer? Rent one at the ARC, SRC, or UBC Aquatic Centre starting at just $25 per term (May 1 – August 30). Lockers can be purchased online from May 1 or in person starting May 3.

Faculty & Sports Day

May 2

Get ready for an afternoon of challenges, activities and fun! Hosted by UBC Human Resources and UBC Recreation, this event is designed for UBC faculty and staff members to have fun and get moving with their colleagues. Enjoy a variety of games and activities, followed by a relaxed “après” social with snacks and refreshments.


UBC Aquatic Centre Closure

May 4

Please be advised that the UBC Aquatic Centre will be closed to the public on Sunday, May 4, 2025 for all staff training. The facility will return to regular operating hours the following day. All guests and facility users are encouraged to consult the facility schedule prior to any visit.


Mel Zajac Jr. International Swim Meet

May 16-18

The 60th annual Mel Zajac Jr. International Swim Meet will be taking place at the UBC Aquatic Centre from May 16-18, 2025. Please note that all facility programming will be paused during this time.


Summer Leagues Registration Closes

May 14

This summer, join one of our Thunderbird Adult Leagues and enjoy some friendly competition on UBC’s beautiful sports fields. Register your team or as a free agent by May 14 @ 11:59PM!


Victoria Day

May 19

UBC Recreation’s Sports Facilities will have adjusted hours on Monday, May 19 for Victoria Day. We encourage guests to plan ahead if they are planning to visit our facilities.


Free Week

May 20-26

Try out a variety of fitness programs and activities, for FREE! Open to UBC Students, UBC Staff & Faculty, and the public. No experience is required, and all abilities are welcome!
