Men’s Ultimate SC Places 17th at D-1 Championships

The UBC Thunderbirds men’s ultimate team wrapped up the season with a 17th-place finish at the USA Ultimate D-1 College Championships with a 15-14 win over California-Santa Cruz. While not the result the team set out to achieve when they headed to Burlington, Washington for the tournament, it’s a meaningful end to a season built on progress.

This season was about more than rankings, it was about growth, grit, and laying the groundwork for what’s next. We showed we can compete with some of the best teams in the country, and more importantly, we proved to ourselves that we belong on that stage. For many of us, this was our first taste of nationals — a chance to learn, push our limits, and see what’s possible. We’re proud of how far we’ve come, but we know this is just the beginning. With a strong group coming back next year and lessons learned from every game, we’re building something. The work continues.
