As we gear up for LongBoat, we want to make sure you’re fully prepared! Whether this is your fourth LongBoat or the first time, we’ve got all the information you need to get ready. Explore the following to learn more:

For Team Captains: Please check your email for your ‘Captain’s Package email’ over the course of September 16, which includes essential details on what needs to be completed before you can race. If you haven’t received your ‘Captain’s Package email’ by Wednesday, September 17 by 12:00 PM, please reach out to us at im.longboat@ubc.ca or call 604-822-9052 as soon as possible.

Important Dates:
- Event Date: Saturday, September 27 & Sunday, September 28, 2025 @Jericho Sailing Centre
- Mandatory On Campus Safety Clinics: Wednesday, September 17 & Thursday, September 18, 2025
- In-Person Practice Session: Saturday, September 20 – Sunday, September 21, 2025 @Jericho Sailing Centre
- Team Roster Submission Deadline: Wednesday, September 24, 2025 @5:00PM
Attend the Mandatory Safety Clinic:
One person from your team must attend our mandatory in-person safety clinics on campus on September 17 and/or September 18, 2024. They will run every thirty minutes from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. You do not need to register for these sessions. Your team representative will check-in when they arrive and your team will be marked as “attended” for the safety clinic. Note that a physical student card is required for check-in.
- September 17 from 6:00PM-8:00PM in SHRM B1001
- September 18 from 6:00PM-8:00PM in GEOG 100
Waiver Submission Deadline, September 26:
All participants must fill out an online waiver! Team members will not appear on your roster until an online waiver is signed. Waivers must be signed by Friday, September 26 by 5:00 PM. To sign the waiver, click here.
Roster Submission Deadline, September 24:
Team captains are responsible for submitting their team’s roster online using the unique Team ID and Access Code provided in their ‘Captain’s Package email’.
Attend a Practice Session:
On either Saturday, September 20 or Sunday, September 21, you will have the opportunity to practice on the water with your team. This will allow your team to learn the basics and get comfortable with the boat before Race Day. A link to sign up for the optional practice session can be found in your team captains “Captain’s Package email’.
Please only sign up for one session, and make sure you are at Jericho Sailing Centre 20 minutes prior to your practice time for sign in. We strongly recommend that you bring at least 8 people from your team to practice. There will be no bag check at this clinic.
