Join the annual Great Trek for a ‘Jaunt Through Musqueam Territory’ on Saturday, October 25, 2025 (formerly known as the Fall Classic).
Unknown to many is the Arts ’20 Relay – a race from the original UBC campus, where the Vancouver General Hospital stands today, to Point Grey. This was organized by the class of Arts 1920 and it challenged other faculties and graduating years to compete. The fastest team granted bragging rights.
Over a century later, UBC Recreation reissues the challenge with the Great Trek Relay. Gather five (5) members to compete!
Relay Information
- Date: Saturday, October 25, 2025
- Registration Closes: Wednesday, October 22, 2025
- Race Time: 12:35 PM
- Meeting Time: TBD
- Race Distance: 5km, each individual will run 1km (teams will be timed)
- Meeting Location: On Campus, meet at MacInnes Field
- Team Fee: $28.93
- Team Size: Five (5) Individuals
- Who: UBC Students
- Registration Deadline: Tuesday, October 21 at 11:59PM
Registration Information
Once you are ready to register, follow the steps below:
- Designate a team “captain” and pick a team name
- The “captain” will register via here, and select the “UBC Exclusive 5KM Relay – Team Captain $28.93” listing
- You will be asked to input your team name, teammates name, and what leg of the race you are participating in
- Once done all other team members will register via here, and select the “UBC Exclusive 5KM Relay – Team Member” listing
- You will be asked to input your team name and what leg of the race you are participating in
Please note: only UBC Students are eligible to use the discount. Student ID’s will be checked upon the meeting time, and non UBC Students will not be eligible to race (refunds will not be provided).
