
On Sunday, June 28, the UBC Vancouver Campus will experience temporary road closures due to the Beneva Vancouver Half Marathon.
The event will run from 7:30 – 11AM, with the following road closures in place to accommodate the event:
Lane Closures
- 7:00 am – 10:45 am: SW Marine Drive between Wesbrook Mall and Kullahun Drive open in northbound direction only (to UBC). Southbound traffic (from UBC) detoured to 16th Avenue.
Full Road Closures
- 4:00 am – 11:30 am: NW Marine Drive between Stadium Road and University Blvd
- 4:00 am – 11:30 am: Agronomy Road between NW Marine Drive and Lower Mall
- 6:45 am – 9:30 am: NW Marine Drive between University Blvd and East Mall
- 6:45 am – 10:15 am: NW Marine Drive from Chancellor Blvd to 4th Ave (along Spanish Banks)
- 6:45 am – 9:30 am: SW Marine Drive between Wesbrook Mall and Stadium Road
- Wesbrook Place residents and visitors, use 16th Avenue during event to avoid delays, not SW Marine Drive. There is no access from Wesbrook Mall onto SW Marine Drive from 7am to 10:45am.
- Cecil Green Park Road access accommodated from NW Marine Drive via Chancellor Blvd through gaps in runners.
- UBC Hospital access via 16th Avenue, University Blvd and Chancellor Blvd to Wesbrook Mall.
Vehicle Access
- Access to Botanical Gardens via Stadium Road across North West Marine Drive through gaps in runners. Flaggers will be present.
- Wesbook Place residents and visitors, will have to use 16th Avenue during event to avoid delays, not South West Marine Drive. There is no access from Wesbrook Mall onto South West Marine Drive from 7 – 10:15AM.
- Cecil Green Park Road access accommodated from North West Marine Drive via Chancellor Boulevard through gaps in runners.
- UBC Hospital access via 16th Avenue, University Boulevard and Chancellor Boulevard to Wesbrook Mall.
