NIRSA Canada 2020 can be a game-changing experience for young professionals, offering unique opportunities to meet, collaborate, and learn from professionals and students in recreation across the region.


Dedicated Sessions for Students

NIRSA Canada offers a wide selection of sessions to all attendees. A number are specifically catered to students and the student experience in recreation.

Past NIRSA Canada sessions have included:

  • Workshops to develop your own programming ideas
  • Presentations on student leadership and development
  • Students-only round-table discussion of current topics in recreation
  • And more!

Go a step beyond and share your own presentation with professional staff and students alike! Students are highly encouraged to submit an application to present on any topic that interests them.


Networking Opportunities

Throughout the conference, attendees will be able to engage with each other through both structured and free-form networking. This is a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences with a wide variety of people in the field.

Opportunities for networking will include:

  • Designated sessions for networking within students and between students and professional staff
  • Various relaxed networking opportunities, including pre-conference activities, evening socials, and breaks between sessions
  • Opportunity to participate in UBC’s Howl at the Moon Volleyball Tournament with other NIRSA Canada attendees

NIRSA Canada brings together a wide variety of recreation students and professionals who are excited to share their knowledge. Experience a range of subjects to learn about the different ways you can apply your experience!

Participants will be able to decide which sessions they wish to attend – choose sessions specific to your field by following one of our streams, or choose your own adventure to get a taste of what is available.
