Program provided in partnership with UBC Farm
Welcome to UBC Farm! Learn about birds, bugs, plants and mud through nature-based games and activities. This entirely outdoor program uses diverse activities to teach and inspire curiosity about the natural world. Don't be afraid to get messy and make a splash in the rain, as this camp will venture both into the woods and onto the planting fields.
Required Equipment: Weather appropriate clothing that is easy to move and play games in; this camp runs rain or shine outdoors.
Location Details: This camp meets at the gates to UBC Farm.
This camp is presented in collaboration
with UBC Farm, part of the Faculty of Land and Food Systems, and the
main teaching space for the Centre for Sustainable Food Systems.
Situated on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the
Musqueam people, all 24 hectares of the farm are organically managed.
The UBC Farm is comprised of cultivated annual crop fields, perennial
hedgerows and orchards, pasture, teaching gardens and forest stands. The
farm cultivates over 200 varieties of fruits, vegetables and herbs, and
also features honey beehives and egg-laying, open-pasture hens.
