Program provided in partnership with Jericho Beach Kayak Centre
Our Beginner Kayak + Coastal Adventures Full Day Camp for youth 11-14 years old is all about learning and exploring the marine environment as well as learning how to kayak. Campers will spend half the day kayaking and half the day on shore.
On the water, campers will acquire essential kayaking skills, including boat handling, safe capsizing, and re-entering their kayak. These skills will prepare campers for exciting paddles in sheltered waters. Weather permitting, we will also aim to certify participants with a nationally recognized paddling certification (Paddle Canada Basic Kayaking Skills).
On land, we will dive into the fascinating world of intertidal life, learn and practice navigation and orienteering skills and spend time connecting with the other campers and the outdoors.
Required Equipment: Please bring a hat, swimsuit, towel, sandals or water shoes.
