Farm Wonders

Program provided in partnership with UBC Farm

Farm Wonders is a community education initiative committed to promoting environmental awareness through science-based learning. We aim to offer a unique experience that allows children to explore the wonders of science at the UBC Farm and discover the life-cycles of the food they eat. We have a lot of fun! Camp includes forest adventures, planting, harvesting, eco-crafts and more.

Required Equipment: Weather appropriate clothing and footwear that works well for farm-related activities; this camp runs rain or shine outdoors.

Location Details: This camp meets at the gates to UBC Farm.

This camp is presented in collaboration with UBC Farm, part of the Faculty of Land and Food Systems, and the main teaching space for the Centre for Sustainable Food Systems. Situated on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Musqueam people, all 24 hectares of the farm are organically managed. The UBC Farm is comprised of cultivated annual crop fields, perennial hedgerows and orchards, pasture, teaching gardens and forest stands. The farm cultivates over 200 varieties of fruits, vegetables and herbs, and also features honey beehives and egg-laying, open-pasture hens.
