Fitness - Strength, Power & Stability for Youth Sport

Help your child build a strong sport foundation with Strength, Power & Stability for Youth Sport Camp at UBC!  Tailored for ages 9-12, this half-day camp focuses on essential elements of athleticism like core strength, balance, and body control—all crucial for success in sports.  Run by UBC’s personal trainers, this camp provides age-appropriate, sport-specific exercises that support injury prevention, strength development, and effective movement patterns.  Perfect for pairing with the Speed and Agility for Youth Sport Camp, this program is ideal for energetic participants or young athletes looking to enhance their performance.

Program Overview: Each session at Strength, Power & Stability for Youth Sport Camp includes fun, interactive activities designed to improve core stability, functional strength, and movement mechanics.  Using drills that mimic athletic movements in sports like soccer, basketball, and track, participants will work on balance, strength, and flexibility to create a strong and resilient athletic base.  Exercises include bodyweight drills, balance challenges, and controlled movements to support good posture, alignment, and safe techniques in sport while enhancing body awareness and proprioception.

By the end of the week, campers will have a stronger sense of body awareness and control, making them better prepared and more confident to take on athletic challenges both on and off the field.

A digital copy of the consent form is completed during online registration. In-person or over the phone registration requires a paper copy be submitted prior to the first day of camp.
