Discover the magic of English Bay! Designed for ages 8-10, Ocean Explorers Level 1 introduces young adventurers to the vibrant marine ecosystems of English Bay. Through hands-on activities like ethical crab trapping, eco-jar building, and species identification, campers will uncover the fascinating world of local marine habitats. Guided by UBC students of oceanography and marine biology, and featuring guest lessons from Ocean Wise and Parks Canada, this camp blends fun, exploration, and learning. Canoe trips, motorboat excursions, interactive lessons, and engaging projects inspire curiosity and provide thrills by the shore in English Bay.
Highlights Include:
- Guided canoe trips to observe local marine life up close.
- Build eco-jars to recreate mini ecosystems.
- Guest educators from Ocean Wise and Parks Canada on local marine species.

Marine Ecology Camp Parent Handbook
Required Equipment: Water shoes or sandals with straps, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, a water bottle, appropriate swimwear, a towel, and a change of clothes.
