Program provided in partnership with The Starfish Canada
Does your child love marine animals? In today’s world, more and more animals are becoming rare, at risk, endangered, or even extinct. Campers will learn about the marine animals that need their help and what they can do to protect them. They will learn about gentle giants, fishy friends, keystone species and apex predators. Campers will play educational games, will use arts and crafts to create their very own endangered marine animal and decide what they can do to protect it.
Kids will also explore key areas of conservation, such as marine protected areas, learn how to read the IUCN Red List world indicator for species at risk, and discover why animals receive their specific classifications. This camp is a week of outdoor fun, learning and protecting marine animals!
Fun activities include:
- Shoreline Cleanups
- Predator-prey dynamics
- Food webs
- Action projects
