Marine Biologist in Training

Program provided in partnership with The Starfish Canada

*This camp is open to youth identifying as girls, trans, genderqueer, gender non-binary, Two-Spirit, and gender questioning. We are working to close the gender gap in science-related fields!

Calling all future Marine Biologists! At The Starfish, we empower girl* identifying children to become STEM experts. This girls* only day-camp will inspire your child to dive deeper into the exciting world of marine biology. Your Marine Biologist in Training will participate in exciting, ocean-themes games, and harness their own learning by conducting group research projects where they will collect their own data from the local environment at camp. Your child will have the opportunity to learn from a real-life woman-identifying or nonbinary marine scientist, and hear exciting stories from the field.

Fun activities include:

  • Data collection on crabs, kelp and barnacles
  • Exploring marine invertebrates
  • Hands-on learning with bones and fossils from marine creatures
Sign up today for this unique summer camp that will inspire a life-long dedication to ocean stewardship!
