Regular physical activity can go a long way to reduced stress and anxiety, to better cognitive performance and increased productivity, as well as improved mood, UBC Recreation aims to help you reach be your best while on campus.

All children should experience the positive benefits of physical activity, and families play an important role in determining how children incorporate activity into their life. UBC Recreation offers opportunities for you to enable children to be physically active, as well as opportunities for you to make family time - physical activity time!

UBC Aquatic Centre Memberships:

A membership to the UBC Aquatic Centre gets you access to the pool during public swim times, as well as access to the steam room, sauna, hot tub, and other amenities. Check out the online drop-in calendars for all your swim possibilities.

Fitness Centre Memberships:

One membership gives you access to two fitness centres, and you can bundle it to include unlimited spin & group fitness classes, boot camps, or yoga and Pilates.

Personal Training:

Work towards your fitness goals with a knowledgeable and friendly personal trainer who will keep you accountable and ensure you have fun along the way!

Fitness Classes:

Make it a habit by having set times each week blocked off for exercise, and make it fun by signing up with some colleagues! With over 100 fitness classes to choose from (and discounts for Staff & Faculty) you can find a program you will all love and that fits into your schedule.

Drop-In Sports

The SRC offers a variety of casual and inviting drop-in sports including badminton, volleyball, table tennis, and basketball.

Learn to Play Tennis:

Sign up to learn a new skill with a friend - or meeting new people in a program! The UBC Tennis Centre (Vancouver’s only public indoor tennis facility) offers beginner programs to introduce you to the foundations of the game.

UBC Camps:

UBC Camps offers a wide variety of half-day and full-day camp offerings during Pro-D Days, Spring Break, Winter Break, and in the Summer.

Drop-In Swimming:

Take advantage of the family drop-in rate and enjoy a few hours in the pool. On weekends there are often diving boards, the tarzan rope, and an inflatable obstacle course open during public swim! Check the drop-in schedule for updates on what will be available.

Family Hockey:

A fun way for parents and kids to play together in a safe and fun atmosphere. Check the drop-in schedule for “Family Hockey” drop-in times.

  • Discounts on fitness centre memberships at the BirdCoop & ARC

Free Sports & Activity Equipment for the UBC Community

Moves on MacInnes provides free sports and activity equipment to the UBC Community for use on MacInnes Field. To borrow any of the available equipment, visit the UBC Student Recreation Centre’s front desk.
