How do UBC Grad Students Get Involved in Recreation at UBC?

UBC Recreation offers exceptional physical activity experiences that help Grad Students: be their best while at University, build friendships and community, and enhance their wellbeing. UBC Grad Students can enjoy discounts on almost all UBC Recreation program offerings.

Reach your full potential

Physical activity can help you in so many different ways - from reducing stress and anxiety, to increasing productivity and your mood! We aim to help you reach the highest level of success while on campus.

"I finished my master's thesis well under two years, huge credit goes to UBC Recreation for keeping me both mentally & physically active."

-Usman Nasim, UBC Grad Student

Make friendships and build a community

Students that participate in recreation programs at UBC are more likely to report that they have supportive friendships and a sense of belonging at UBC. Taking a break from studying to enjoy some fresh air or physical activity with friends or your family can make a world of a difference for your University experience.

"As a graduate student coming from another province, one of the biggest challenges is to make new friends. UBC Recreation has opened up many opportunities for me to meet new people and make meaningful relationships."

-Danni Zhang, UBC Grad Student

Make physical activity a family affair

All children should experience the positive benefits of physical activity and families play an important role in determining how children incorporate activity into their life. UBC Recreation offers opportunities for you to enable children to be physically active, as well as opportunities for you to make family time - physical activity time!

"It's convenient to have programs so close to work and the hockey programs and instructors are great!"

-James Webber, Athletics & Recreation
