Make physical activity a family affair

All children should experience the positive benefits of physical activity and families play an important role in determining how children incorporate activity into their life. UBC Recreation offers opportunities for you to enable children to be physically active, as well as opportunities for you to make family time - physical activity time!

UBC Aquatic Centre Membership:

There are plenty of public swimming opportunities scheduled around a typical work day – or stop in to enjoy the hot tub, steam room, and sauna. UBC Staff and Faculty get a discount on memberships and drop-in swim passes with a valid staff ID card.

Fitness Centre Bundles:

One membership gives you unlimited access to two fitness centres, as well as spin & group fitness classes scheduled conveniently in the mornings, lunch hour, and after work. UBC Staff and Faculty get a discount on all memberships with a valid staff ID card.

Free Drop-In Sports at the SRC:

The SRC offers a variety of drop-in sports (from badminton, to futsal, to table tennis) that UBC Staff and Faculty can attend for free with a valid staff ID card.

Free Guided Walks:

Take a moment at lunch to enjoy a walk on campus with your coworkers. Guided by the Move U Crew, these walks are a great way to move a little during the day, and see UBC outside of the office.

Fitness Classes:

Make physical activity a habit by having set times each week blocked off for exercise, and make it fun by signing up with some colleagues! With over 100 fitness classes to choose from (and discounts for Staff & Faculty you can find a program you will all love and that fits into your schedule.

UBC Camps:

UBC Camps offers half-day and full-day camp offerings during Pro-D Days, Spring Break, Winter Break, and in the Summer. UBC Staff & Faculty can also submit for a discount on their child’s camp.

Drop-In Swimming:

Take advantage of the family drop-in rate and enjoy a few hours in the pool. On weekends there are often diving boards, the tarzan rope, and an inflatable obstacle course open during public swim! Check the drop-in schedule for updates on what will be available.

Family Hockey:

A fun way for parents and kids to play together in a safe and fun atmosphere. Check the drop-in schedule for “Family Hockey” drop-in times and UBC Staff and Faculty get a discount on their drop-in fee.

Summer Wellbeing Walks

Twice a month during the summer, the UBC Move U Crew host a FREE 45-minute themed lunch walk around campus. These walks are a great way to meet new people, explore campus, have some fun, and get moving!
