How can youth experience an active and well-rounded lifestyle at UBC?
UBC Recreation offers exceptional physical activity experiences that help youth enrich their fundamental life skills, engage with physical literacy and activity, build friendships, and experience an active and well-rounded lifestyle.
Keep your child engaged and occupied
UBC Recreation believes youth should experience the positive benefits of recreation and the opportunity to build confidence, social, and life skills through tailored programming. Our youth programs are centered around providing an exciting, educational, and memorable experience for all participants.
"The most important thing is that he has fun – and the level of instruction is awesome. After a week camp his skating was significantly better!"
- Jeff Smith (on behalf of his son Sam)
Enrich your child’s physical literacy and activity
All children should experience the positive benefits of physical activity, and families play an important role in determining how children incorporate activity into their life. UBC Recreation offers opportunities for you to enable children to be physically active and learn new physical literacy skills!
"There’s such a variety of programs to choose from including hiking, aquatics, and hockey! I always have so much fun."
- Ryann
Help your child build friendships and community
Sport communities can be one of the most memorable experiences from an individual’s childhood. At UBC we focus on fostering an environment of teamwork and sportsmanship, paired with high quality coaching to provide exceptional and memorable experiences for athletes in our youth performance programs.
"Practices were really fun, and I enjoyed playing with all my friends. I am a better hockey player thanks to the great coaches!"
- Peter
