Biography
Charlie joined UBC Dragon Boat in 2014 while finishing his last year in Electrical and Software Engineering. Dragon boat has always been a sport he wanted to be part of ever since he was eight, when his parents took him to see the races at Toronto's International Dragon Boat Festival. However, having no prior experience with paddling, Charlie was not given the opportunity to paddle for any teams during his time in Eastern Canada. Charlie joined UBC Dragon Boat because it was the first team that was willingly enough to give him a chance. Ever since then, Charlie has remained and paddled for UBC Dragon Boat club. The sport has become a huge passion for him and the family feel of club was what made him stay.
