The 14th edition of UBC Vancouver’s Faculty & Staff Sports Day debuted a new South Campus location that introduced new venues like the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre, UBC Tennis Centre, Thunderbird Park, and the BodyWorks Fitness Centre. The competitive juices flowed and spirits were high as 136 teams took part in the afternoon event spread out across two different time slots. An après celebration capped things off, providing an opportunity to recognize winners, outstanding participants, and celebrations.
Faculty and staff from a variety of departments and units were represented at the event, with many teams dressed up in costumes or matching apparel. Be sure to check out the photo gallery for some of the very best from the event.
The event was made possible by a dedicated group of volunteers, including 60 event day volunteers from the campus community. Special recognition to UBC Human Resources, UBC Kinesiology, UBC Recreation, and the UBC Wellness Centre for their contributions to bring our community together for a bit of fun!
