About the Team

The UBC Thunderbirds Curling Sport Club is a competitive curling team that competes provincially and nationally with tournaments under Canada West, U Sports, Curl BC and Curling Canada. The season consists of BC Curling Tour Events, local competitions and weekly practice, as well as off-season training and team activities. In addition to its competitive interests, the UBC Thunderbirds Curling Sport Club believes in fostering interest and passion for curling in the UBC community. Many of our players assist with the Alma Mater Society’s Curling Club events, such as its Learn to Curl Clinics, as a way to give back to the community. Curling is a pivotal sport in Canada’s history, as our country has consistently performed well on the world stage and we are looking to continue that legacy with our club and competitive program at UBC.
