About the Event

What is UBC Faculty & Staff Sports Day?

This event is designed for faculty and staff members of UBC to have fun and get moving with their colleagues. Aligned with the UBC People and Places Plan as well as the UBC Wellbeing Strategic Framework, this event seeks to foster wellbeing and thriving communities through physical activity and social connection. This event is perfect for colleagues looking for an afternoon of activities that facilitate teamwork, communication, and getting to know one another.

Join us with a team of 4-6 for an afternoon of fun on the UBC Point Grey Campus on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Musqueam people. Teams will participate in various games and activities followed by an “apres” social time with snacks and beverages.

Event Details

The event is divided into two time slots. Each time slot will offer an hour and a half for activities followed by a 30 min. “apres” option. Teams can spend up to the full hour and a half participating in activities, or head to the “apres” area to enjoy snacks and beverages.

How Can I Participate?

Faculty and staff members can register as an individual or a team. If you register as an individual, you will be placed with others to make a team of 4-6 members.

You can also register as a team of 4-6 team members. A designated Team Captain will register on behalf of the team. The Team Captain will be able to add their team members to their roster once registered.

What if I am not sporty?

Faculty and staff sports day is for everyone! A wide range of activities will be offered to accommodate varying levels of experience, fitness and ability.  Every activity will have a physical activity level rating. Teams will be able to choose which activities they want to participate in as well as how many.
