Winter Youth Tennis Programs

Info Icon

Our Junior Programs accommodate youth of all levels and abilities by allowing them to develop the fundamentals of the game at an early age and continue the progression to becoming tournament-level players. The UBC Tennis Centre uses a Progressive Tennis methodology where players learn the game through a fun game-based approach with modified courts, rackets and tennis balls, talk with your coach, or contact our reception desk.

Fundamental

Our Fundamental programs are for players who are looking to start their tennis journey or are recreational players. Students will improve their tennis skills and learn the fundamentals of the sport through exciting practice and game-related activities. Upon completion of the program, students will have a better understanding of technique for all strokes, understand court positioning for singles and doubles, and have a basic knowledge of the rules and scoring of tennis.

This program introduces children to their first tennis experience in the most fun and innovative way. By using modified equipment and storytelling, our instructors turn skill-building activities in to an hour-long adventure each time. The aim is to capture each child's imagination and keep them attentive the entire class, while developing their basic coordination and tennis skills.

Note: A parent/guardian is required to attend and participate with each student.
