Baseball Cage Rentals

The UBC Baseball Rose Indoor Training Centre (RITC) is home to the UBC Thunderbirds Baseball Team and is a state-of-the-art indoor training facility located beside the Tourmaline West Baseball Stadium. Designed for baseball, with 4 full-size batting cages and pitching machines, the RITC is the premiere baseball facility in British Columbia. How to Book a Cage Rental

1. You may book a cage no more than 72 hours in advance (e.g. if you wish to book a court at 4:00PM on Monday, you cannot book prior to 4:00PM on the Friday before). 
2. All bookings will occur in 1-hour fixed time slots that start at the beginning of each hour. 
3. Persons interested in cage rentals will be required to create a UBC Recreation account and add at least one credit card to your account, then contact the Baseball Centre at 604.822.5770 or itc.info@ubc.ca.  
4. All cage fees must be paid in full at the time of the booking. Only credit (Visa or Mastercard) or debit payment is accepted at this time. 
5. Pitching machines must be requested at the time of booking. 
6. Participants will check in with UBC Baseball Centre staff to verify their time slot and sign required waivers. 
7. Participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment; however, equipment (bats, helmet, batting tee) can be provided upon request. If equipment is damaged or stole, an additional charge may be applied.  
8. Once the sign-in is complete, participants are required to wait in the lobby until the previous group leaves the cage. 
9. After the booking, participants must clean up all balls and leave the cage as they found it.  
10. All cage bookings are non-refundable.

Please Note

• When signing-in you will: be assigned a cage, sign a paper waiver/consent form, and have the option to rent helmets or bats at the sign-in desk. 
• Only 1 helmet per individual and only 2 bats per rental group. 
• Baseballs will be provided (or softballs for slo-pitch rentals). 
• We recommend that players bring their own batting gloves. 
• No metal spikes on shoes permitted inside the facility. 
• No food/beverage/gum, other than water. 
• Up to two cages can be booked during a 24 hour window.  
• A maximum of 4 players can be in a cage at any given time. 
• Cage bookings may be moved after confirmation to a different cage number to prevent schedule gaps and as required. 
• All cage bookings must be vacated promptly at the end of the booking to allow for the next group to enter. 
• Cage bookings cannot be used for private lessons. Only UBC Baseball coaches are authorized to provide instruction in the facility. Patrons who appear to be conducting private will be issued a warning or asked to leave without refund.
