UBC Recreation is expanding its online withdrawal and cancellation beginning in Fall 2022. Customers will be able to withdraw from or cancel reservations for many programs using the online registration portal.
Course Withdrawal
UBC Recreation’s online withdrawal is applicable to the following programs:
- Adult & youth registered courses, programs, & lessons (e.g. swimming, skating, or tennis lessons; fitness classes; learn to skate programs; etc.)
- Camps programs – read more about specific rules for withdrawal from camps programs.
Please note that memberships, private lessons, personal training, intramural activities, league sports, and performance team registrations (e.g. Junior Thunderbirds or Thunder) are not eligible for online withdrawals.
Withdrawing Less Than 14 Days Prior to Course Start
Within 14 days of the scheduled start date of a course, customers should not use the online withdrawal option.
Customers may request a refund (subject to an administrative fee) using the Refund Request Form.
Drop-in Activity & Reservation Cancellation
Membership-based classes (e.g. yoga, pilates, boot camps, spin, and group fitness) and drop-in activities (e.g. skating, stick & puck, SRC sports) offering advanced reservations can be cancelled online. Please note reservations for sessions at the UBC Aquatic Centre cannot be cancelled online.
Customers paying a drop-in fee or using a punch/multi-visit pass will receive a credit/refund when completing an online cancellation up to the start time of the class or activity. Customers registering in classes or activities using a membership are also asked cancel reservations for sessions they will not be attending.
Online Withdrawal/Cancellation Tutorial
Login to your UBC Recreation profile at portal.recreation.ubc.ca
If you have more than one person attached to your login, please select the appropriate person from the list to withdraw from your reservation by clicking anywhere on the row with their name.
On the screen for the person you wish to cancel a reservation scroll down to the “Schedules” tab and click.
Once open, select the “Switch to List View” option.
In the List View, click on “Actions”. This will bring up a list menu, select “Withdraw” from this list.
A pop-up will enable you to complete a refund to original payment method or as an account credit for future transactions.
Please note that there are no costs to cancel your fitness centre or group fitness class reservation.
When your cancellation is complete, the screen will display a Withdrawal Confirmation.
You can either print or email this Withdrawal Confirmation.
