Fitness Centres Memberships Notice

The sales of all memberships that include fitness centre access are temporarily unavailable due to COVID-19 related capacity limits. Single session reservations will also be unavailable during this time. This pause ensures all persons who have already purchased a membership will have access to the fitness centres. UBC Recreation will continue to monitor the use of the fitness centres and re-assess the availability of fitness centre memberships in the coming weeks.

Staff & Faculty and Public members with an expiring membership will be provided an opportunity to manually renew their membership by emailing src.operations@ubc.ca.

Fitness centre memberships for the spring/summer will be available for purchase online beginning April 29 at 10:00am.

As of January 7, all 5 Visit Class Passes can only be used for Yoga & Pilates Classes during the suspension of high intensity fitness classes due to an updated Provincial Health Order.

Please note that due to COVID-19 precautions, new restrictions on class sizes and the maximum capacities at fitness centres are in place:

  • 3000 available fitness workout spots per week
  • 120 available yoga & Pilates class spots per week

How to Purchase a Membership

Follow these steps to purchase a membership and register for available workout sessions or classes:

  1. Memberships are available for purchase online. UBC Recreation is using a new registration system; an online login will be required for all activities. If you have not recently set up a new login, please follow the link below to connect your CWL to or create a UBC Recreation online login.


  1. Save money and purchase a membership. Please note, if you do not purchase a membership you can still register for individual classes and workout sessions.
  • $40/term

    Fitness Centre Membership

    Two fitness centres with over 16,000 sq. ft of equipment

    Access includes:

    • BirdCoop & ARC Fitness Centres
    • NEW | Access to all Group Fitness Classes (includes Boot Camps, Group Fitness Classes, Spin Classes, Flow Yoga, Hatha Yoga, and Pilates Classes) as Covid guidelines permit

  • $50/term

    Yoga & Pilates Membership

    Unlimited Access to all Yoga & Pilates Classes

     

    Access includes:

    • Unlimited access to all Flow Yoga, Hatha Yoga, or Pilates classes each week

Fitness Classes &  Fitness Centre Memberships are valid within the term of purchase. “Term” is a set of four months; either September – December, January – April, or May – August. To qualify for the UBC Student rate, a UBC Student must be enrolled in courses and paying/paid the Athletics & Recreation student fee. A delay of up to 24 hours after connecting a UBC Recreation login with a UBC CWL may occur before UBC Students are eligible for student rates and programs.

1Yoga & Pilates Membership includes unlimited access to all Flow Yoga, Hatha Yoga, and Pilates Classes each week.

2Yoga & Pilates Membership expires on April 17, 2021.

35 Visit Class Passes can be used for any drop-in fitness class.

45 Visit Class Passes expires on December 31, 2021.

Fitness classes are automatically included in Fitness Centre Memberships for Faculty & Staff and the Public. Access includes all Boot Camps, Group Fitness Classes, Spin Classes, Flow Yoga, Hatha Yoga, and Pilates classes.

Important Information regarding UBC Recreation Memberships:

  • Memberships can be purchased online and require a VISA or Mastercard. If you are looking to use debit /cash please book an in-person Customer Service Time.
  • All Boot Camps, Spin, Yoga, and Pilates classes are first come, first served based on pre registration capacity of the class.
  • The purchase of a membership does not guarantee a spot in a fitness centre time slot or membership based class.
