Skateboarding – Level 01

Program provided in partnership with UnderToe Skateboard Academy

Level 1 focuses on the basic skills to get a child from never having ridden a skateboard to safely rolling around! Instructors will work with campers to learn fundamental skills such as foot placement, pushing, terminology, skatepark etiquette, intro tricks, and proper safety and falling techniques.

Required Equipment: Skateboarding-specific helmets are mandatory and need to be supplied by participants (no bike helmets). Knee, elbow and wrist guards are strongly encouraged but not required. 'Trick' or 'park style' skateboards are also mandatory and need to be supplied by the participant; no 'penny' or plastic 'toy' skateboards, longboards, boards without proper grip tape, etc. Please consult instructors if you have any questions.

Location Details: This camp meets in the Tennis Bubble Alleyway for sign-in and-out, located between the Tennis Bubble and Osbourne Centre. Please note that in the event of rain, camp may be moved to either a covered area outside or indoors, and campers may not be able to skateboard for safety reasons. Alternative activities will be provided in these circumstances.
