John M.S. Lecky UBC Boathouse
Located 18km south east of UBC’s Point Grey campus, the UBC Boathouse is a mixed use venue on the shore of the Fraser River supporting rowing/paddling programs. It also acts as an idyllic backdrop for events and weddings.

Thunderbird Stadium
Thunderbird Stadium is an open-air, artificial turf stadium used primarily for soccer, football, and rugby. The stadium opened on October 7, 1967 and can seat 3,500 in the main grandstand. By using the surrounding grass embankment the facility can accommodate up to 12,000 spectators. In 2017, the UBC Homecoming game between the Thunderbirds and the Saskatchewan Huskies had the top football attendance, estimated over 10,000.

Thunderbird Park
Thunderbird Park is a sprawling collection of turf and grass fields near the south end of the UBC campus that are host to a variety of teams, student leagues, and community activities. Including the adjacent Rashpal Dhillon Track & Field Oval, Thunderbird Park provides extensive opportunities for organized recreation as well as less formal activities like walking or pick-up soccer games during less busy times.
Between September to April, expect to see Thunderbird Park bustling in the evenings and weekends as it’s not unusual for the intramural soccer and ultimate leagues to be running for students while Thunderbirds varsity teams like field hockey and rugby may also be hosting important matches.

Tourmaline West Baseball Stadium
Tourmaline West Stadium is the first artificial turf baseball field in the province of British Columbia. Completed in 2018, the baseball stadium is home to varsity, junior varsity, and younger community baseball teams. In 219, the stadium and the UBC Thunderbirds varsity baseball team hosted the International Collegiate Baseball Classic featuring two Japanese universities (Keio University and University Tokyo) and NCAA Div I team, Sacramento State University.

UBC Baseball Rose Indoor Training Centre
The UBC Baseball Rose Indoor Training Centre (RITC) is home to the UBC Thunderbirds Baseball Team and is a state-of-the-art indoor training facility located beside the Tourmaline West Baseball Stadium. It is heated allowing a comfortable training environment year round. Designed for baseball, with 4 full-size batting cages and pitching machines, the RITC is the premiere baseball facility in British Columbia. The facility also has the ability to convert and be used for multi-sport training.

Gerald McGavin UBC Rugby Centre
Located in the heart of UBC’s athletic venues and pristine playing fields, the Gerald McGavin Rugby Centre offers an expansive view of Thunderbird Park’s grass fields. Its raised terrace and exterior, stadium style seating makes for a great viewing location of UBC Thunderbirds varsity rugby games or to simply enjoy the lush, green landscape.

UBC Tennis Centre
The UBC Tennis Centre is one of Vancouver’s only public, indoor tennis facilities. The facility includes 12 indoor courts across two buildings as well as one outdoor court. The UBC Tennis Centre is set up to provide great, year round access to tennis whether you’re looking for great coaching through the lessons and drill programs, booking a court rental, or playing in a tennis Grand Slam mixer event.

Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre
Thunderbird Arena was host venue for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games and can hold up to 7,000 people for special events like the UBC Winter Classic hockey game or concerts. This venue is the home of UBC Thunderbirds ice hockey teams and is also accessible for sledge hockey. The Father David Bauer Arena and the Protrans Arena are primarily used for hockey related programs hockey and skating lessons, public skating sessions, and two hockey leagues.
The facility also features pro shop that carries some hockey and skating equipment as well as providing services such as skate rentals and skate sharpening.
