Welcome to UBC Recreation Fitness and Classes!

 

UBC Fitness and Classes is dedicated to the health and wellbeing of the UBC Community. We have two facilities, the Student Recreation Centre and the Activities and Recreation Centre, that host a variety of fitness centre, gymnasium, and studio spaces to accommodate for the full spectrum of ways you can stay active while on campus. The two facilities offer a variety of fitness classes – everything from yoga to boot camps, personal training opportunities, a spin studio, climbing cave, fitness centre and yoga & Pilates memberships, there is something for everyone.

Our staff strive to ensure a clean and safe environment, where you are encouraged to lead a healthy and active lifestyle. We want you to feel great, not only from your workout, but from the experience and friends you make while on your fitness journey.

Try All Fitness Classes for Free from May 21-27


 

Try over 90 different types of fitness classes from May 21-27, 2019!

Free Week is back again for the Summer with a variety of classes in Dance, Martial Arts, Cardio Conditioning & Strength, Boot Camps, Yoga & Pilates, or Strength & Group Fitness for you to try at no cost. Absolutely no experience is necessary, and all students, staff & faculty, and community members are invited to come. Happening at the Student Recreation Centre (SRC), ARC, and Ponderosa Studios, be sure to come early as some classes can reach capacity quickly.

Notice: Spin Classes Cancelled – April 10, 2019

Unfortunately today’s spin classes, Express Cycle from 4:45 – 5:20 PM and Power Cycle from 5:30 – 6:30 PM in the SRC Spin Studio are cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

We apologize for the very late notice. Participants are encouraged to enjoy a workout at the gym in lieu of the class today. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact fitness.programs@ubc.ca. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Notice: Hip Hop II Cancelled – April 4, 2019

Unfortunately today’s fitness class, Hip Hop II from 6:30 – 7:25 PM in the ARC Main Level Studio is cancelled due to instructor’s availability.

Participants are encouraged to enjoy a workout at the gym in lieu of the class today. A follow-up email will be sent to all registrants. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact fitness.programs@ubc.ca. We apologize for any inconvenience.

SRC Maintenance Shutdown – Saturday April 6th

Please be advised that the SRC and BirdCoop Fitness Centre will be closed for electrical maintenance on Saturday, April 6th from 6:00am – 1:30pm. Classes that are scheduled in the SRC Studio, DOJO Studio, or BirdCoop Spin Studio will be cancelled during this time. Registered members of these classes will be contacted by a member of the Fitness & Classes Team.

Patrons are invited to use the ARC Fitness Centre to enjoy a workout which will be operating as usual. Thank you for your patience. If you have any questions, please feel free to speak to an Operations Staff member at the ARC, BirdCoop, or SRC Front Desks.
