Welcome to UBC Recreation Fitness and Classes!

 

UBC Fitness and Classes is dedicated to the health and wellbeing of the UBC Community. We have two facilities, the Student Recreation Centre and the Activities and Recreation Centre, that host a variety of fitness centre, gymnasium, and studio spaces to accommodate for the full spectrum of ways you can stay active while on campus. The two facilities offer a variety of fitness classes – everything from yoga to boot camps, personal training opportunities, a spin studio, climbing cave, fitness centre and yoga & Pilates memberships, there is something for everyone.

Our staff strive to ensure a clean and safe environment, where you are encouraged to lead a healthy and active lifestyle. We want you to feel great, not only from your workout, but from the experience and friends you make while on your fitness journey.

Notice: Power Cycle Cancelled – Oct 20

Unfortunately tomorrow’s fitness class, Power Cycle on Sat, Oct 20 from 11:00am – 12:00pm in the SRC Spin Studio is cancelled due to instructor’s unavailability.

Participants are encouraged to enjoy a workout at the Birdcoop or ARC fitness centre instead. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact fitness.programs@ubc.ca. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Notice: Pilates Cancelled – October 18

Unfortunately today’s fitness class, Pilates on Thursday, October 18 from 12:00 – 12:55 pm in the ARC Main Studio is cancelled due to instructor illness.

Participants are welcomed to use the studio and its equipments in lieu of the class today. Please sign in at the ARC front desk as usual. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact fitness.programs@ubc.ca. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Notice: ARC Equipment Upgrades

Please note that the ARC Fitness Centre will be undergoing equipment upgrades on Thursday October 18 between 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. The fitness centre will remain open for members to enjoy a workout, however some areas of the fitness centres will be temporarily unavailable as equipment is moved.

Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

– Temporary closure of the Olympic Bench Press area as equipment is replaced.

– New pieces include 2 Olympic Benches, 1 utility bench

– Alternative: Please feel free to use the Olympic Bench Presses at the BirdCoop.

Notice: Power Cycle Cancelled – October 3

Unfortunately today’s fitness class, Power Cycle on Thursday October 3 from 4:45 pm – 5:30 pm in the BirdCoop Spin Studio is cancelled due to instructor illness.

Participants are encouraged to enjoy an individual spin session, as the Spin Studio will remain open for patrons to use. Or, workout in the BirdCoop or ARC Fitness Centres in lieu of the class today.
