UBC Tennis offers programming based on its “Learn, Practice, and Play” philosophy, is designed to provide players of all levels with a well-rounded and enjoyable tennis experience.
As a reminder, for individuals planning to register in 2.5 and above programs, a skill assessment will be required to ensure a proper match for the course.
If you’re unsure where to begin, we recommend checking out our Adult Program Pathway. This resource outlines our “Learn, Practice, and Play” philosophy and shows how to progress through our offerings based on your skill level. We utilize the North American and Tennis Canada rating scale, where players rate themselves from 1.0 (beginner) to 7.0 (advanced).
Before registering, please identify the rating that best describes your level of play during matches. For all programs 2.5 and above (this includes UBC Faculty & Staff | Intermediate, UBC Student | Beginner, Cardio Tennis and Adult Performance programs) a skill assessment is required to ensure appropriate placement. If you’re unsure of your level, we encourage you to consult the self-rating guide, speak with your tennis coach, or contact our reception desk before registering.
Private & Semi-Private Lessons
Private instruction is one of the best ways to improve your game quickly. All UBC Tennis coaches are certified and trained to take your game to the next level. Private and Semi-Private lessons are taken based on the coaches’ availability so often clients will be placed on a waiting list until a suitable coach and time is available.
