Swim N' Splash

The Swim N’ Splash Camp provides campers with the opportunity to engage in water activities that enhance movement skills, teamwork and sportsmanship at the UBC Aquatic Centre. A Lifesaving Society: Swim for Life lesson is included, allowing swimmers to improve aquatic skills, strokes, safety and fitness. Beginner & Intermediate level swimmers will have a 45 minute lesson, and Advanced level swimmers, a 60 minute lesson. After the lesson portion of camp, participants will engage in instructor-led games and other fun activities. The camp will emphasize fair and safe play, while promoting water safety.

Campers will be placed into their respective Swim for Life levels based on their most recently completed swimming level. Please ensure that upon registration you include this information. If you are uncertain of your child’s swim ability or level, please contact aquatic.daycamps@ubc.ca.

Swim N' Splash Guidelines:
Beginner Lesson: Floating, Gliding 5-10m and beginning front and back swims.
Intermediate Lesson: throwing assists, tread water 1 ½ minutes, all strokes 10-15m, and working towards 25m+ distance swim.
Advanced Lesson: tread water 3 minutes, all strokes 25-75m, and working towards 300m+ distance swim.

Please Note: Campers are asked to arrive in their bathing suit. Washrooms will be available and campers will be expected to use on-deck showers prior to entering the pool.

Consent Form: UBC Camps Aquatics Consent
A digital copy of the consent form is completed during online registration. In-person or over the phone registration requires a paper copy be submitted prior to the first day of camp.
