Combo - Skimboarding & Paddleboarding

Program provided in partnership with Windsure

During full day camps, campers will find themselves on the water for half the day standup paddleboarding, and the other down at Spanish Banks skimboarding it up. This program allows participants to try two of Windsure's sports. 

During half-day camp, campers will be spending their days paddleboarding or skimboarding, depending on tides and weather conditions. 

First-time and beginner skimboarders will learn the proper technique of “throwing” the board and skimming across the sand. They will be introduced to basic maneuvers such as “180′s” and “shuvits”. Intermediate riders will learn an assortment of flatland maneuvers and experiment with ramps. 

First-time and beginner paddleboarders will learn proper technique, while developing strength and balance in a non-competitive environment.

The primary language of instruction is English. For safety reasons, we require all attendees to understand and speak English.

We always try our best to maximize our campers' time on the water! Sometimes conditions such as storms, cold/rain, or a lack of wind can get in the way of our plans. In these cases, we try to get participants out on the water for at least one hour per morning or afternoon. We also take this time to play beach games and learn sport theory, with safety a top priority.

NOTE: Camp will not run on statutory holidays (Wednesday July 1, 2026 and Monday August 3, 2026).

Required Equipment: Bring a bathing suit, towel and water shoes. Also pack a water bottle, snack(s), lunch, sunscreen, sun-protective accessories and layers (hats, sunglasses, sun shirts), and weather appropriate clothing for colder/rainy days. An eyeglass retainer (strap) is required for participants who wear glasses or sunglasses.

Location Details: Please check-in with our staff at the Windsure table, located at Gate 4 of the Jericho Sailing Centre. The gate is located near our beach hut. ID will be required from the accompanying adult for pick-up and drop-off.
