If your preferred race distance is currently full, don’t worry. Joining the waitlist is the best way to stay in line for any spots that become available before race day.
- When a spot opens up for you, we will reach out to your email on file.
- You will have 48 hours to decide if you would like to claim the spot. Once you receive a waitlist offer, you’ll have 48 hours to decide whether you’d like to claim the available spot. If we don’t hear back within that time, the spot may be offered to the next athlete on the waitlist.
- To claim the spot, we will ask you to add a credit card to the ‘Finance Info’ section of your Recreation account.
Waitlist FAQs
What spot am I on the waitlist?
Email ubc.triathlon@ubc.ca and we can let you know!
Can I switch race distances if I get off the waitlist?
Yes – if you are registered in one distance, but you get off the waitlist for another distance, we can transfer your registration. Depending on what the distances are, you may have to pay additional registration fees, or you may get a partial refund.
What are my chances of getting off the waitlist?
We can’t say for certain – we don’t open any more spots, so any waitlist spots opening up are from athletes withdrawing.
When does the waitlist start moving?
The waitlist usually starts moving most in January/February.
