UBC Recreation’s Sports Facilities will have adjusted hours on Monday, May 18 for Victoria Day. We encourage guests to plan ahead if they are planning to visit our facilities.
UBC Aquatic Centre Re-Opening
The UBC Aquatic Centre is pleased to announce that the Annual Preventative Closure (APC) is complete for 2026, and that we are reopening for full spring term with more regular operating hours and programs as of Monday, April 27.
Thunderbirds Sweep Top Spot at U SPORTS Championships!
Our Thunderbirds finished the season on top of Canadian university swimming with both the men’s and women’s winning back-to-back national titles.

The UBC Aquatic Centre’s Annual Pool Closure will take place from Friday, March 27 at 5:00PM – Sunday, April 26 inclusive.

Aquatic Centre Facility Closure | Jan 22 at 4:00PM
The facility will be closed early to the public on Thursday, January 22 at 4:00PM to host the UBC Recreation event, Water Wars.
Thursdays Are Student Nights at the Aquatic Centre!
Starting Jan 15th, on Thursdays from 8:00 pm onwards, the Aquatic Centre hosts drop-in facility hours exclusively to UBC students! Whether you want to chill in the hot tub, relax in the sauna or play basketball in the leisure pool – do whatever floats your boat!

T-Birds Sweep Awards at Conference Championships!
Our UBC Thunderbirds won both conference team titles for the second year in a row and claimed every individual award across the three days of competition at the Canada West Championships!
